CH WINDWARD'S LORELEI CGC, RN, CA, TKA, NSD
While Vera isn't the first Weimaraner I've loved and worked, she has been my first for many things in the dog world. Vera is my foundation bitch that propelled Velocity Weimaraners into being.
Vera is a birdy and beautiful bitch. She reads me and understands immediately what I want. She is sensitive to my wishes before I have a clear understanding what I'm going to say. She has an intense desire to please, and her cooperative spirit is uncanny. Vera has been one of the easiest dogs I've ever trained, hunted with, or lived with. She is also one of the sharpest and most loyal dogs I've ever shared my life with. She's a natural at anything she tries.
Vera earned her conformation championship easily, even with me on the other end of the lead. She placed in her Futurity class and also placed in a tough Maturity class at Weimaraner Nationals. While Vera gave me many, many exciting wins in her show career, she most recently went Best Veteran in sweeps and then took Best of Opposite out of the veterans class at the Greater Cincinnati Weimaraner Clubs Specialty show! Vera also recently finished her Rally Novice title with a smooth 100 and 1st place. She also earned a leg toward her CD title the same weekend.
Vera was bred once to a hard hunting dog named "Henri" (Silvershots Pocket Rocket UT1) She produced a beautiful & feisty daughter for me, Swoon.
Vera is a lovely working dog that typically hunts in a snappy, but easy shooting dog range. She is a natural backer, and has no qualms about getting down and dirty in difficult terrain. Vera loves to retrieve. She enjoys hunting woodcock, retrieving doves, and pinning pheasant most of all. Vera is sharp when it comes to fur. She thinks nothing of dispatching stray cats, groundhogs, or raccoons.
2018 will see Vera turning 10 years old! We will spend the year celebrating her, finishing up several titles, and hopefully adding a "V" to the end of her name.
VELOCITYS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART SD
I can't even begin to explain what this dog means to me and the special place she has in my heart. Swoon is the total package for me-- wild, sweet, bold & smart. While she lives up to her name, and is not one for the "faint of heart" she is the complete package. Brains and beauty. She also has a great sense of humor!
When I bred Vera to Henri, I expected to get an awesome working bird dog that I could hunt with and train & test in NAVHDA. And while I did get that, I ended up going a completely different way! On a whim, I entered Swoon in a field trial and we came home in the ribbons and with points towards her FC/AFC! We entered a few more and garnered her puppy and derby points, as well as a placement on the WCA Top 10 Derby Dog list. Hook, line, sinker! Swoon also earned her WCA Shooting Dog title just shy of two years old. Swoon has also dipped her toes in the show ring a few times and walked away with a few reserves, a Best Bred-By in breed, and a Sporting Group 3 in a Bred By Exhibitor show!
Swoon trains exclusively with Diane Vater & Chuck Cooper of Alpha Dog Training. Swoon will not only be trained to be a finished upland hunting dog, but if she has the skill set, she will also be trained to compete in walking and horseback field trials.
Pending health testing, Swoon may be bred early 2019. Please contact me for more info!

SR'S RUNNIN' WITH THE DEVIL CA, BCAT, TKN
Apple may be small in stature, but she lives BIG. While somewhat beastly and bossy, she is nothing but loyal, protective, and smart.
Apple trains in agility, obedience, and absolutely loves lure coursing and running Fast CATS. In 2017, after her first weekend of running Fast CATS, Apple snuck into the #1 spot nationally as the fastest SBT. She is currently ranked 5th fastest on the Lifetime list.
2018 should find Apple finishing a few more titles, advancing in her agility skills, and making her debut in obedience.
Twix is a dime a dozen- sweet and stylish with a good set of wheels.
Her preferred birds are woodcock, but she'll take anything that I throw her way. Twix enjoys dove hunting, as well as water work and retrieving. We will start working our way towards her started HRC title this coming year, as well as AKC hunting titles.
VELOCITY ELHEW TALKIN' JIVE
Jive hails from Howard Pointers here in Indiana and is every bit of bird dog crazy as her pedigree boasts.
While just a pup, Jive is consistently running big and locking on point. She has been run on quail, woodcock, and pheasant as a babe and handled all extremely well. I plan to run her in AKC and AF puppy/derby stakes this coming spring.
- Up for Adoption -
On occasion, I take in wayward dogs that need a place to crash and some training until a permanent home can be found. Most of the time, this includes various bird dogs and terriers of a sort.
SR's AFTER HOURS TKN
Fizz is a true to form, drop & go terrier. She lives for adventure and loves to train. Sweet, bold & sassy.
Fizz was found in an alley not too far from my home in April of 2017 and has lived and trained with my crew since. She has completed two introductory agility classes and loved every second of each.
Fizz also enjoys launching herself into the lake, retrieving, lure coursing, wrestling & full body wiggles. She recently earned her Novice Trick Dog title through the AKC. If not adopted before spring 2018, Fizz will start racking up legs in coursing and Fast CATS, as well as continue in agility and start training for Rally.
Ideally, I would like to place Fizz in an active sport home that is consistent and firm with boundaries.
If interested, please contact me for more information!
- Extended Crew -
Hendrix was a stray Weimaraner that I fostered and worked with through Louisville Weimaraner Rescue. He was a younger male when found, a bit full of himself, but had a nice balance of drive and disposition. He was also full of heartworms. He came home with me for treatment, and I fell for him. He ended up living with me for a few years and adjusted to pack life and having rules before moving in with my parents after they lost their first Weim, Dylan.
Hendrix is a tough dog, but like every other Weimaraner out there, he is loyal and dedicated to his people. Lake life suits him well, and he still dock dives and is a hell of a swimmer and retriever even at 10 years old. He loves to go hunting with my crew and keeps my parents company in the fishing boat.
Such a gruff old man, but full of heart.
Lucky hails from well-versed field trial/dual lines and is owned by Diane Vater and Chuck Cooper of Alpha Dog Training. He landed at my house January 2018 for some adventures and baby bird dog bootcamp. He will be here until summer camp starts in 2018.

9/6/2004 - 3/13/2017
I cannot express how much I loved my Sylvie. She was my first Weimaraner and changed the course of my life. She lived the Chicago life with me, and lived the Alaska life with me. She was a hunting dog through and through-- and still the dog that I can't help compare every other dog that has come into my life to. Maybe one day I'll be able to write more about her in hopes that it does her and her life justice.
TRAVEL LIGHT & FLY HIGH MY SYLVIE
CH WINDWARD'S WINDJAMMER JH
Dylan retired into the family after field training and being on the circuit for a few years with Diane Vater and Chuck Cooper of Alpha Dog. He was a well built, sweet as they come Weimaraner, who moved effortlessly through the field and loved nothing more than to be made over by his people.
In his first phase of retirement, he earned a few agility titles with me and trained in obedience. He also trained his grand-daughter, Vera, in sun- bathing, pear eating, bird nest destroying, and proper cuddling techniques.
In his second phase of retirement, Dylan moved in with my parents where he showed them nothing but pure love and devotion.
LWR's I KNOW WHAT I LIKE JH, NSD, NRD
Neva joined my crew through Louisville Weimaraner Rescue as a scared and reactive two year old. Because of temperament quirks, she was not placeable, so she lived her life out with my crew.
Neva loved to hunt quail, pheasant and waterfowl. She was also fun to hunt dove, rabbits and squirrel with. She was most at ease in the field, working.
Brew was a foster that I took in through Louisville Weimaraner Rescue, knowing that she would never be adoptable because of various health and temperament quirks.
Brew found her place with my crew, and with it, found that she loved walks through the fields and woods, living the lake life, mothering foster litters, and chasing quail as far as her old body would let her.
